THE FLEURS

In my artistry, I constantly hover at the boundary between fantasy and reality, dream and nightmare. I am drawn between these two poles. I am fascinated by this duality, and it is precisely this duality that drives me to explore its meaning for the human self. What happens in the moment when the boundary between light and darkness blurs? When does a dream begin, and when does it end? And what does this moment do to me as an individual?

My artworks always consist of different layers that merge but still remain distinct. I work with photomontages and collage techniques, building up my images through multiple exposures in different layers. The interplay between shadows and light is integral to my surrealist compositions, which have their roots in my own surroundings and personal experiences.

I infuse my essence into each artwork, creating soulful pieces that resonate deeply.

Raised in Switzerland with a German mother and a French-speaking father, I was immersed in the world from an early age. After several years in Berlin, where I trained in performing arts, I made my way through London to Stockholm, where my alter ego, The Fleurs, was born. It is under this name and with Stockholm as my base,  that I now create dark, conceptual art. While photography is my primary medium, my artwork are build by merging several photographs with digital painting and painting on my prints by hand during or by the end of the process. I often combine my visual art with sound and music pieces that accompany me throughout the conceptual process.

My background in performing arts and music influences every project I undertake. As a multimedial artist, I use my body as a tool to express myself and embrace different techniques and media that best suit the concept I am exploring. Many of my visual works are complemented during the creative process with sound art, painting or text. The resulting work becomes a symbiosis of various expressions, born from each other and interacting, but also capable of existing independently.

My education has added different important layers to my artistry. I started my photography education with analogue photography and wet plate photography which defined my love for the analogue process and look. By then I already worked as a photographer, mainly in the music industry. After I got my vocational degree in image processing and postproduction at Fotoskolan STHLM, which gave me the technical understanding for the process for digital photography, I went on to take a Bachelor degree in Culture and Arts, profiling in photography and video art. I graduated from Novia University of Applied Science (Jakobstad, FI) in 2024 and since then I had several solo-  and group exhibitions. 2024 and 2025 I was part of Affordable Art Fair Stockholm and I got featured as one of 10 emerging talents in photography art in the april issue of 100 photography Art Magazine, curated by Vanessa Rusci and NNC Gallery London.
